Living Life @ 100 MPH – Keeping It Moving In 2018

According to psychologists, the average pace of modern lifestyle has increased by over 10% since the mid-1990’s, we’re living in an ever-changing society of new development and technology.

When the world is moving at such should speed, should you be too?  I guess the answer is yes, moving at a cracking pace in life and business should not be taken for granted.

It’s important to understand how essential every single minute in your day is to get closer to your long-term quests. Admittedly, I have been too laid back in the past and waited for things to come my way, to my detriment of course. I’ve quickly come to realise that on a daily basis, I am scrutinising my 12- to 15-hour days, down to the second and trying to fill in as much productivity as I possibly can.

I’ve realised the power of speed. Speed, both in people skills and of course hard work, I believe will get you where you need to be. The great modern motivator Gary Vee (if you haven’t heard of him check out his stuff here) preaches the importance of micro speed and macro patience, as one of the formulas for success. The reality is that most people overestimate what they can do in 1 year and underestimate what they can do in 10 years!

Breaking this down into simpler terms, micro speed is the ability to constantly be hustling, maintaining a high energy state and fast but efficient pace throughout your day, basically, it is your ability to (on a daily basis not just occasionally) get things done quickly and efficiently so as to maximize productivity throughout a day. This means that in the short term you are able to consistently achieve things that will eventually add up to your long-term goals.

And the biggy, Macro-Patience is in simpler terms, setting long-term objectives that are aligned with what you value and want to achieve in life and understanding that they take time.

Often we’re so focused on reaching our achievements, we want our goals today (we’d have them yesterday if we could). Most people want to build an amazing physique in 1 month, it’s not going to happen, most people want to become multi-millionaire entrepreneurs in 1 year, it’s not going to happen.

The issue at hand is not that the goal itself is unrealistic, because they are achievable, no matter what the goal is there is a way to achieve it, however, again you must be realistic and understanding with the time frame that it would take to achieve it.

Sometimes you have to sit back and ask yourself. Hard work now can lead to proportionately greater rewards later, so how prepared are you to make short-term sacrifices for yourself?

Recently I have the chance to travel around the country attending various events and capturing content for social media, sometimes sacrificing sleep, missing friends and relationships. I’m having the time of my life and know that deep down it will all be worth it in the long run. I have my vision & i’m living out all the goals I set right now.

Constantly being on the go, my style has adapted. I’m wearing comfier fits, the athleisure look has really taken over this year and I’m embracing it.

Recently I’ve been rocking Foray, adding a stylish retro feel to my everyday travels.
