It’s Not About The Destination, It’s About The Journey….

In partnership with BoohooMAN

Life is a journey. I’m sure you’ve heard of this cliché statement numerous times, but if you really take a minute and look at your own life, the meaning becomes more apparent.

Would you say you have arrived at your final destination in life? Would you say that you have already achieved everything that you had hoped to achieve? Have you travelled everywhere you’ve wanted to visit or finished everything you’ve wanted to complete?

The most likely answer to this is no.

The truth is, no matter how much you achieve, accomplish, and acquire in life, there is always something more to be had. You’ll never really reach your final destination, it’s human nature to always strive for more.

So, why does all this matter? Quite simply far too many people put off what really matters in pursuit of the things they want to achieve. They tell themselves that they’ll worry about these things once they’ve reached their destination. Important things like family, friends, nurturing relationships, or even simple moments in daily life. I hold my hands up and say I am guilty.

The sad thing is, the simple things we put off most of the time are never rediscovered.

That’s why I am making a more conscious effort to enjoy the journey and taking my time to focus on what’s really important in life.  I have realised it’s good to be ambitious, but ultimately not to the detriment of my happiness.,

We all want to want to accomplish great things in our life – plans, dreams, goals. Deep down, the key is simply finding the right balance and discovering the mindset that allows you to pursue big things without sacrificing the little things that make life worth living.

One goal I have for 2018 & 2019 is to travel more. I’ve put the idea out into the universe (the power of The Secret) and slowly it’s begun to happen. In the last 6 months alone I’ve already done a mini UK tour, venturing to the likes of Liverpool, Leeds, Birmingham and regularly getting more opportunities with brands weekly in London. Ok so it may not be exotic or abroad, but it’s a start, right?

I definitely have more plans to venture overseas and see more of the world, and I finally have something finalised for a late summer getaway! I haven’t actually left the UK for over 5 years, constantly putting travel as the last thing on my list, and before I’ve known it, a significant amount of time has flown by. This is why I feel it’s so important to reassess and not let life pass you by.

I think a well-deserved break is in order. We can’t complain this summer, we’ve been blessed some of the best weather to ever hit these shores, with highs of 30° here in UK, but you just can’t beat the experience of heading to the airport with your suitcase & passport in hand and exploring somewhere new.

It can often be a headache to find something to wear for travelling. Luckily the guys at BoohooMAN have everything covered for those getaways.

Choosing what to wear when you travel is important. I think your outfit should be equal parts style and comfort. The key is not to go too overboard with your travel outfit.

Keep it simple for minimal effort with maximum impact. Choose pieces that you can layer – adding or taking off depending on how cold the airport is, or how hot your travel destination will be.

Personally, for maximum comfort, I like to travel in a tracksuit. Tracksuits are easy to throw on, relaxed, light and perfect for long journeys, like this one from BoohooMAN, with matching sweater and track pants

The key to a successful travel outfit is to stick to one colour palette. I make it easier for myself by picking one key colour to build my travel outfit around. Black, blues and whites are the easiest colours to wear, they’re versatile enough to mix and can work across various locations and climate.

One top tip I have is wherever you’re going, always pack a light jacket or hoody. If you’re travelling early in the morning or experiencing harsh air con on your flight, you’ll be grateful that you packed an extra layer!

Last but not least, always pack some sunglasses. Shades will be your best friend, for hiding those tired travel eyes, looking effortless in the airport lounge and of course, protecting your eyes from the sun in style. Now go explore.
