Good Food, Good Friends: A Taste Revolution

Revolution

Something a little different from me. Of course, I love food, so when I had the opportunity to try the new Revolution sharing menu I popped on my loosest trousers and headed down to the Parsonage Gardens branch, just off Deansgate in Manchester City Centre.

Revolution Bars are iconic and have become a British mainstay. If you want guaranteed good food, drinks and a good time, Revolution is always a solid choice on the list. With over 70 bars located predominantly in towns or city centre high streets across the UK, there is a high chance of there being one not too far from you.

The evening began with a cocktail masterclass from the expert Revs bartenders, teaching how to shake, strain and everything in between, before we took our seats at the dinner table and checked out what we would be filling our belly’s with.

So let’s get down to business shall we, the food of course. Now when you think of Revs, you may think of simple bar food choices like the classic Burger & Beer combination, maybe a pizza or pasta dish,  but it’s time to broaden your horizons, like this new menu has.

Incredibly Revs have over 60 new dishes, with over 100 new ingredients that make up a fresh, fast and flavour packed menu.
There is something for everyone as the choices aim to bring some colour to your plates, with over a third of dishes suitable for vegetarians and 9 new vegan dishes too.

They do say food tastes better with good company after all.

You’re not the same person you were last night. You don’t want the same thing that you wanted this morning. You might even want something different in five minutes time. You know what you want and the guys Revs are aiming the give it to you.

I was so surprised by the variety of dishes, flavours and the presentation. Revolution have upped their game and really exceeded expectations it with their range, all designed for sharing plates with friends.

Whatever you want, however you feel, this latest menu features food to suit your mood. Filled with dishes inspired by foodies all over the world, it’s an eclectic mix of incredible flavours.

I know what some of you will be thinking, “My food is my food, if somebody else wants nachos, they can order some themselves.”  Sitting down to a meal with others is beneficial in multiple ways. Offering food, no matter how much, is part of elementary hospitality in most cultures. Dinners spent together creates new bonds, strengthens ties, friendships, and business relations.

A shared meal is a social event where thoughts, experiences, and emotions are shared. On a more covert level, acceptance or distance towards other is expressed, as well as mutual respect. Sharing is special.

The plates kept on coming and I was blown away by dishes such as Pad Thai & Chilli Nachos, Sticky Chicken as well as showpieces like The Smoke King Burger.

Once we had powered our way through all of the above, I barely had room for another bite. That was until I saw our waiter bring out the final dessert plates.

I seem to have developed a sweet tooth recently, so I gave myself a tactical five-minute breather and grabbed a spoon to get stuck into an Exploding Chocolate Brownie, I told you these guys really did go all out with the menu.

As an incredible evening drew to a close, I was surprised and satisfied with how much food I had put away and just how much Revolution has improved since I last visited. I’ll definitely be heading back there again with good group of friends to shock them too.

Don’t just take my word it, head down to your local Revs and try it for yourself.
