First of all, let me thank you for stopping by at my blog. The first post is always the hardest! Overcoming that initial anxiety of people’s reaction to your content and how you deliver it. I’ve been sitting on this website for well over a year, deciding whether or not to go through with publishing it and after much deliberation, I thought it was finally time to push that LIVE button and start as I mean to go on.

The blogging world has been dominated by women for years, but there has been a rise in male bloggers recently and I’ve arrived at the party.

I’ll start by saying that the leather biker jacket is perhaps one of my favourite fashion items and definitely my ‘go to’ piece when I feel like a want to make a statement.

As you will learn from reading my blog, my jacket obsession will become more than apparent and it all started with leathers! Every male needs at least one style of leather in their wardrobe, there are so many types – the bomber, baseball, aviator… the list goes on, but my personal preference has to be the biker.

I find my style is always evolving, but some pieces you just always go back to and this is definitely one of them. Investing in the right jacket is key, making sure you get the right fit, quality and design will ensure you have a staple item that you can wear for years to come.

As the weather in the UK is always on the cold side, even in spring/summer, it’s easy to get away with wearing a biker on sunnier days, or during the evening when the temperature drops. I decided to focus on my latest pickup, the BODA SKINS Kay Michaels Biker jacket, which has been a welcome addition to my wardrobe and an upgrade from previous styles I’ve owned.

The gold hardware detailing really makes this jacket catch the eye and makes quite a change from the standard silver zips and buttons most leathers usually have.

What really differentiates this jacket from others and makes it extra special for me is its origin. BODA SKINS is based in the heart of Manchester, United Kingdom (my home city) and has significantly expanded into a world-renowned name, I enjoy seeing brands grow and BODA has definitely done that over the past few years.

Secondly, I was surprised at the slim-fit design, something that other jackets lack. Being a gym-goer, I have a developed a larger upper body but still have a relatively small waist, the jacket really fits close to the body whilst allowing you the freedom to move and not feel restricted.

Above all, the quality of the fine leather reassures me I’m owning something special, made from premium Napa sheepskin the material is super soft and durable.

With this outfit, I’m completing the look with white hi-tops, a plain black tee, and a pair of black destroyed denim jeans from ASOS, a great everyday alternative I can throw on, meaning I can save my favourite Saint Laurent pair for special occasions.

The dark & edgy feel of this outfit sums up my current preference for casual style and teamed with some mirrored aviator glasses, gives my own personal salute to classic rock n’ roll style icons.

For those bargain hunters, the guys at BODA SKINS are throwing a huge sample sale this weekend in Manchester  (Saturday 4th August – @ Royal Exchange Theatre, St. Annes, Manchester, M2 7DH from 10 am6 pm).  To attend simply click here.
